AI answers change, so snapshots go stale

AI answers are regenerated, so a one-off audit starts ageing immediately. As an AI monitoring tool, EasyFetcher reruns the same tracked prompts every Sunday at 00:00 UTC and preserves each run in append-only history, keeping every change traceable to the exact answer and cited sources.

See what changed, not just what exists.

Inside a scan

Four things checked every time the scan runs

Monitoring is only useful if the comparison is honest. What moved since the last run, on a fixed schedule, across every assistant, with the sources behind each answer tracked alongside.

  1. What actually changed

    • Cited first on “best help desk for small teams”Sun
    • Dropped out of Gemini on 2Sun
    • New citation from g2.comPrev

Differences against the previous scan, not a rolling average.

A dashboard that only shows today's numbers makes you remember last week's. Each scan is compared with the one before it, so the movement is stated rather than left for you to spot.

Read the drops first — a lost placement is live for a week before anyone asks.

  2. The same question, every week

    68%+27 in 8 weeks

Share of prompts naming you, one bar per weekly scan.

Answers drift on their own, so a comparison is only honest if nothing else moved. The same prompts run against the same assistants on a fixed weekly schedule, and every run is kept rather than overwritten.

Change one prompt at a time, or you will not know which one moved the number.

  3. Nothing is sampled

    • ChatGPT
    • Gemini
    • Perplexity
    • Claude
    AbsentCited8 weeks

Every prompt re-asked of every assistant, every week.

Assistants disagree with each other and with themselves, so checking one of them is a guess about the rest. Every tracked prompt is re-asked of every connected assistant on each run.

A gap that shows on one assistant and not the others is a source problem.

  4. The pages behind the answers

    • g2.com new citation
    • reddit.com cited on 3 more
    • capterra.com lost on 2
    • producthunt.com no longer cited

The pages behind the answers, week to week.

An answer changes because its sources changed. Citations gained and lost are tracked alongside your own placement, which usually explains a move before you have to go looking for a reason.

A source you lost is a page to win back, not a number to accept.

Frequently asked questions

How do I track AI search results over time?

Track AI search results over time by rerunning the same buyer questions on a fixed schedule and comparing each result with the previous run. Save the full answer, cited sources, named brands, source positions and sentiment so gains and losses remain traceable. EasyFetcher does this weekly, with scans pinned to Sunday 00:00 UTC and append-only history for consistent comparisons.

Can ChatGPT do social listening?

ChatGPT can analyse social posts you provide, but it is not by itself a continuous social listening system. For ongoing monitoring of posts and conversations, use a dedicated social listening product with access to those sources. EasyFetcher serves a different purpose: it reruns buyer questions across supported AI search systems each week and records changes in answers, citations and brand mentions.

How do I get listed in AI searches?

You cannot guarantee inclusion in an AI-generated answer, but you can improve your chances by publishing clear, useful and accessible content that answers specific buyer questions. Support claims with evidence and make key facts easy to understand and cite. EasyFetcher shows which domains AI systems currently cite, where your brand appears and how those results change across weekly checks.

Why should I monitor AI answers with EasyFetcher?

Because AI answers are regenerated, a one-off check can miss when your brand, citation or source position later changes. That matters when buyers use those answers to compare options and discover suppliers. EasyFetcher reruns the same real buyer questions weekly and keeps every answer, letting you see whether visibility is holding, improving or being displaced by a competitor.

Can EasyFetcher show when my AI mentions are won or lost?

Yes. EasyFetcher compares stored weekly runs to show new and lost brand mentions, citation changes, source-position changes and competitors that appeared. Because the full answer is retained append-only, you can inspect the language behind each change rather than relying on a summary. It shows what changed between scans; it does not claim the exact moment or cause of a change between weekly checks.

How does EasyFetcher make changing AI answers measurable?

EasyFetcher turns each weekly run into a comparable record of the answer, sources, named brands, source positions and sentiment. Its 0–100 visibility score has a verdict and four visible components: visibility, position, citations and sentiment, weighted 40%, 20%, 25% and 15%. If an engine cannot be reached, the result is marked unavailable with its reason rather than counted as zero.

Which AI search engines does EasyFetcher monitor?

EasyFetcher monitors ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity on Starter; Pro also includes Claude and Grok. It records the answer verbatim, cited sources, brands named, position among sources and sentiment. Google AI Overviews and AI Mode are read from live search results, not through Gemini or an API, because they are separate retrieval systems.

What happens when I start monitoring with EasyFetcher?

On day one, you add a domain, set tracked buyer questions and choose competitors; AI suggestions and question-shaped Google Search Console queries can help with prompts. Your first stored run establishes the baseline, and later weekly runs create the change history. Scans are pinned to Sunday 00:00 UTC, not real time. Every plan includes all features and 10 tracked prompts per domain; allowances for domains, prompts and AI credits vary.
